Browser Extensions Privacy Policy

One privacy policy for every Chrome extension by The Tech Basket: what stays in your browser, what each extension sends, which permissions it uses, and the terms of use.

Last Updated: October 30, 2026

This policy covers every browser extension published by The Tech Basket: Where is My Website, Show IP, Shop with Family, Open Bulk URL, Strong Password Generator, Highlight Ads, Domain Bookmarks and All SVG Icons. Only All SVG Icons has an account, and signing in is optional. We do not run a server that receives your browsing data. We do not sell, share or rent any data.

What we do not collect

None of our extensions ask for your phone number. Only All SVG Icons, when you sign in, receives your name, email address and profile picture (see All SVG Icons account). None of them send us your browsing history, the pages you read, your web searches, your bookmarks, your notes, your URL lists or the passwords you generate. The only extension that handles payment is Domain Bookmarks, and only if you buy Pro (see below).

Data that stays in your browser

  • Where is My Website: your sites, competitor domains and settings (Chrome sync storage); rank history, optional and off by default (IndexedDB on this computer).
  • Show IP: the IP address of each site you open, read from Chrome’s own connection data (session storage, cleared when you close the browser); overlay on or off and overlay side (Chrome local storage).
  • Shop with Family: prices hidden or shown (Chrome local storage).
  • Open Bulk URL: saved URL lists and their names (Chrome sync storage); tabs or window choice and delay (Chrome local storage).
  • Strong Password Generator: settings such as type, length, characters and word list (Chrome sync storage); password history, optional and off by default: the last 10 passwords you copied (Chrome local storage, on this computer only, never synced).
  • Highlight Ads: the mode (off, highlight or ads only) and highlight colour (Chrome local storage); ads found on the search page (title, link, description, keyword) stay in the popup and are saved only when you export a CSV file to your computer.
  • Domain Bookmarks: bookmarks (Chrome’s own bookmarks); sticky notes, labels, reminders, deleted items, language and Pro license key (Chrome local storage).
  • All SVG Icons: favorites and recent icons (Chrome sync storage); SVGs you save from pages, the daily search count, the copy count used to show the sign-in card once, and, if you sign in, the sign-in token, your name, email address and profile picture (Chrome local storage).

Chrome sync storage is synced to your own Google account if Chrome sync is on, under the Google privacy policy. It never reaches us. Strong Password Generator password history is never synced: it stays on this computer.

Where is My Website keeps rank history for 30 to 365 days (your choice, default 90). You can export it to CSV or delete it at any time from its dashboard.

Strong Password Generator creates passwords inside the extension popup. Generated passwords are never sent over the network.

What the extensions send over the network

Anonymous usage events. Each extension sends a small number of events so we can see which features people use:

  • Where is My Website (Google Analytics 4): installed or updated, with the version; a setting changed; matches found on a results page (search engine name and how many own and competitor results matched); rank history exported (number of records) or cleared. Each event carries a random ID created on install, your browser language, locale and time zone. Google Analytics also receives your IP address, as with any web request.
  • Show IP (Aptabase): installed, popup opened, overlay turned on or off, overlay moved left or right.
  • Shop with Family (Google Analytics 4): installed, prices hidden or shown, and the name of the shopping site you open from its list of supported stores (for example amazon.in), each time you open one. Only the site name is sent, never the page address or the product. Each event carries a random ID created on install, the extension version and your browser language. To show the city in reports, the extension reads your IP address from Cloudflare on www.thetechbasket.com at most twice (on first use and once more 7 days later), keeps it in Chrome local storage and sends it to Google Analytics with each event. Google Analytics turns it into a city and country.
  • Open Bulk URL (Aptabase): popup opened.
  • Strong Password Generator (Aptabase): installed.
  • Highlight Ads (Aptabase): installed, mode changed (off, highlight or ads only), highlight colour changed, ads exported.
  • All SVG Icons (Google Analytics 4): side panel opened; search (which tab and how many results, never the search words); icon copied (format, tab and icon set); avatar copied or downloaded; page scanned for SVGs (how many found, never the page address); SVG saved; signed in; API key saved; daily limit reached. Each event carries a random ID created on install, the extension version and your browser language. To show the city in reports, the extension reads your IP address from Cloudflare on i.allsvgicons.com at most twice (on first use and once more 7 days later), keeps it in Chrome local storage and sends it to Google Analytics with each event. Google Analytics turns it into a city and country.
  • Domain Bookmarks (Aptabase): popup opened (with your bookmark count), bookmark added, edited, removed or copied, folder opened, options page opened (with bookmark and folder counts), theme changed, Buy Pro clicked, a Pro-only feature tried without Pro, and the error message if the popup fails to load.

Aptabase receives the event name, the values listed above, the extension version and your browser language. It uses your IP address and browser user agent only in memory to make a daily pseudonymous ID, and does not store them.

Requests you start.

  • Open Bulk URL, HTTP status checker on openbulkurl.com: when you check URLs on that page, the extension requests those URLs from your browser and returns the status code, redirect and headers to the page. Requests go only to the URLs you enter, and only when you start a check.
  • Domain Bookmarks, broken link check: when you start a link check, the extension sends a short request (HEAD) to each of your bookmarked URLs to see if it still loads. A “revisit” reminder does the same for that one URL when you check it. Requests go straight from your browser to those sites, not through us.
  • Domain Bookmarks Pro: see Domain Bookmarks Pro.
  • All SVG Icons, search and copy: the words you type in its search box, and the icon you copy, go to our icon server i.allsvgicons.com to return results and the SVG file. Avatars load from assets.allsvgicons.com.
  • All SVG Icons, This page: finding SVGs on the open page runs inside your browser. Nothing from the page is sent to us. SVG files the page links to are fetched from that site.

Show IP makes no lookups. It reads the IP address Chrome already used to load the page. No request goes to an IP lookup service.

Domain Bookmarks Pro

Pro is optional. If you buy it, the checkout page on checkout.dodopayments.com is run by Dodo Payments, which collects your name, email address and payment details to process the payment and send your license key. We never see your card details, and the extension never sees your email address.

When you activate your key, the extension sends the key and a device label (the word “Chrome” and your platform name, for example “Win32”) to Dodo Payments to register the device. It later sends the key and the device ID to Dodo Payments to check that the license is still valid, and to release the device when you deactivate. If you are offline, the last valid check is honored for up to 7 days.

All SVG Icons account

Signing in is optional. Copying icons is never counted. Searches are counted in the extension: 5 a day without an account, 50 a day when signed in during the beta. Signing in opens our login page on i.allsvgicons.com, where you pick Google or GitHub. The extension then receives a sign-in token and your name, email address and profile picture, and keeps them in Chrome local storage until you sign out. Searches in the extension do not use your account’s daily limit on our server. Once a day, when you reach the extension limit while signed in, the extension makes one search on our server with your sign-in token to check if your account has Pro; that one search counts toward your account’s daily limit. With Pro, or a Pro API key saved in the extension, there is no daily limit. The account itself is covered by the All SVG Icons privacy policy.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics 4 (Where is My Website, Shop with Family, All SVG Icons): usage events as listed above, under the Google privacy policy.
  • Aptabase (all other extensions): usage events as listed above, under the Aptabase privacy policy.
  • Dodo Payments (Domain Bookmarks Pro only): payment and license checks, under the Dodo Payments privacy policy.
  • Tally (Show IP and Highlight Ads): the Feedback link opens a form on tally.so. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in. What you submit is handled under the Tally privacy policy.
  • Google Chrome sync: stores Chrome sync storage in your Google account if sync is on, under the Google privacy policy.

Permissions

We ask only for what a feature needs.

Where is My Website

  • Storage: save your settings and domains.
  • Active tab: read the current tab when you use the popup, for example to add the current site.
  • Search engine sites (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Ecosia, Brave, Startpage): highlight results on those pages only.
  • Custom engine sites (optional): asked only when you add a custom search engine.

Show IP

  • Web request: read the IP address of each page you open, from Chrome’s own connection data.
  • All websites: show the IP overlay on the page you are on.
  • Storage: keep the IP for each site during your browser session, and your overlay settings.

Shop with Family

  • Storage: remember whether prices are hidden.
  • Supported shopping sites (Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, Etsy, Flipkart, Myntra, Nike, Target and others): hide prices on those pages only.

Open Bulk URL

  • Tabs: read the URLs of your open tabs when you click “Get open tabs”, and open new tabs.
  • Storage: save your URL lists.
  • All websites (http and https): request the URLs you check in the openbulkurl.com HTTP status checker. The extension does not read or change the pages you visit.

Strong Password Generator

  • Storage: save your settings and, if you turn it on, password history.

Highlight Ads

  • Google search pages: find and highlight ads on Google search results only.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: open the popup (Alt+A) and turn the extension off or on (Alt+X).
  • Storage: save the mode and highlight colour.

Domain Bookmarks

  • Bookmarks: list, add, edit and remove bookmarks when you ask it to.
  • Tabs: read the address of the current tab to show bookmarks for that domain.
  • All websites: show your sticky notes on the pages they belong to.
  • Storage: save notes, labels, reminders, deleted items and your license.
  • Alarms and notifications: show reminders at the time you set.
  • Context menus: add “Add Note”, “Show Notes” and “Set Reminder” to the right-click menu.
  • Clipboard write: copy a bookmark URL when you click copy.

All SVG Icons

  • Side panel: open the extension in Chrome’s side panel.
  • Storage: save favorites, recent icons, saved SVGs and your sign-in.
  • Identity: open the sign-in window for our login page.
  • Access to websites (optional) and scripting: find SVGs on the current page. Chrome asks for this access the first time you click “Scan this page”, not at install, and the extension reads a page only when you click Scan.
  • Clipboard write: copy an icon when you click copy.
  • i.allsvgicons.com and assets.allsvgicons.com: search icons, download the SVG and load avatars.

You can remove an extension at any time from chrome://extensions. The related feature stops working.

Retention and your choices

Removing an extension deletes its data in this browser. Data in Chrome sync storage is managed by your Google account: you can clear it at any time in Chrome’s sync settings. Analytics data held by Google or Aptabase follows their retention settings. Dodo Payments keeps purchase records under its own policy and the law. Because we cannot identify you from usage events, we hold no personal data to export or delete. All SVG Icons accounts are the exception: to export or delete one, email hi@allsvgicons.com. For a Domain Bookmarks Pro purchase, email us with your order details and we will help.

Children’s privacy

Our extensions are for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Security

Network requests use HTTPS, except broken link and status checks to an http:// address you added yourself.

Changes to this policy

When an extension changes what it collects, we update this page and the date above.
